Off Road Drive shaft question

My rear drive shaft failed. The Cardon CV unit exploded and now I need to replace or repair it.

Who's making good drive shafts these days? I need one NOW. Toyota wants $1500 for a new one. Whew!

local driveline shop should be able to fix you up with a cv joint for a lot cheaper. don't think you need a new driveline

 

Thanks Mike. Local drive line shop has 1/2 my shaft. Didn't think he needed both pieces - until they have to balance it ... but will be taking the 2nd piece there tomorrow. Hoping for a good fix and cheaper then Toyota.
Was just wondering if there was something better out there. Easier to get. Hoping to get this back on the road SOON.

 

I had a stock one completely rebuilt and cost $400 but you can have a custom shaft made... Carolina Drivelines is what most around here uses. Im sure they have a website but not sure if they ship but as said a local driveline shop will probably be your best bet...my toyota dealer quoted me 1,000
