I can't the two hoses on the bottom backside off. I moved those metal hose clips back, but for the life of me I can't get the facking hoses to budge off of the necks they're on.

They're the only things keep the TB on at this point. I'm afraid to get a flat head in there to pry them off (in fear of tearing the rubber hose(s) )

Any help is much appreciated as soon as possible.

Did you find A write up for cleaning your TB? If so could you post the link? Glad you got it off. I had the same problem a couple weeks ago on a sensor and the sensor actually broke when pulling on the hoses.

    I primarily used this one:

    http://www.top4runners.com/ja/cleantb.html

But had to call some audibles at the line of scrimmage once I was under there. Once you get into it, you'll see what you have to do.

Off the top of my head I removed the bracket holding the cruise control and throttle cables... made life much easier and it was two 10mm bolts.

edit, two more things: 1. Before you start undo the negative cable off your battery and remove the EFI relay in the fuse box in the engine bay, and 2. if you're going to tighten the throttle cable it is two 12mm nuts (not 14mm as written in that link). At least that's what it was on my truck

Also, being a knob, I marked everything will tape so 1. I would know where it all goes back together and 2. would remember to put everything back together, eg hoses on necks, etc...

    Very simple and straight forward.

The other thing I read on here is not to let all the crap from your throttle body drain into that hole that feeds your IAC valve/sensor. So when cleaning the throttle body, I always made sure that hole was at the top.

Here are before and after pics of my throttle body. I didn't spend a crazy amount of time on it because my OCD would have had me sitting there for 6 hours cleaning it

Looks good. Don't forget to clean your MAF sensor while you're in there.

Yup did it at the time.

    On Sunday I:

    Cleaned the MAF
    Cleaned the TB
    Changed spark plugs
    Changed spark plug wires
    Tightened throttle body cable.

I am not going to say anything about anatomy. I can see this is a tarp, and I'm not falling for it.

After this weekend I realize I need some more skids underneath... primarily to protect the transfer case and transmission.
