    Hey All!

I'm new here.. I'm in SoCal and just purchased a 2001 Tacoma V6 PreRunner 2wd.

I'm on 16" wheels and the truck needs new tires. This truck will be used as a commuter, and to haul my motorcycles around. I will not see any off roading, at least for now. I plan to leave it at stock height.

I'm looking for tire and size recommendations for a street tire with a 'meaty' look to it. I do care about noise and gas mileage. I've been doing as much reading as possible but haven't been able to decide.

    Should I go 235/70/16, 255/65/16, 275/60/16, etc.

I've seen the pictures in this thread, but those look a little too aggressive for a commuter Taco...

    Your input is appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Eric in SoCal

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.

The stock size for 16's is 265/70. Probably the best tire you could put on for commuting is the Michelin m/s2, it's quiet and lasts for a long time with great traction in rain and snow.

if you want to fill up the wheel well a little. if not then stick to the stock sizing.

265/70 R16 Bridgestone Alenza Duellers... I got almost 80K on my last Bridgestone Duellers.
Nice street tire, and also does well on dirt roads, all season type driving.
