285s or 265s

Hey guys Im looking at buying new tires and I cant descide whether I want to go with 285 75 16s or 265 75 16s. Im running 5100/stock coils in the front and stock in the rear.I will be installing eibachs and Wheelers 3 leaf aal in the rear. I dont do much off road but when I do its sandy and I stay away from the mud. MPG isnt a hugh deal breaker for me, Im just worried about rubbing and strain on the truck. Im running stock TRD wheels so theres not much off set. Thanks for your help guys!-Swanny

ive got 285/70/17... they effect my mph. quite heavily. so therefore i drive 50-55mph every where i go i can get about 100 miles per quarter tank.

but i have 2.5 inch lift. and trimming done and they still rub if i turn hard

anyway hope that helps

With Eibachs you will probably be just fine. You'll need some wheel spacers, Spidertrax, All-Pro, etc. so that your tires don't rub the control arms and/or frame.

You may have to do the pinch weld mod. Do a search this is a topic that has been covered many, many, many times.

Also check out the eibach/billy thread, there are several guys running 285s with that set-up.

If your worried about rubbing go with the 265/75/16.

I'd go 265, looks good on a truck with 3" or less lift and a lot less rubbing!
