    Does anyone know how to tighten the emergence brake cable on a 2001 Tacoma?

    Yeah! there should be an adjustment screw on it. Backside of the drum I think.

    There's a cable that comes from the cab to about mid-line under the truck, hooks to a bellcrank, then cables to the rear end area. You tighten the bolt on the bellcrank.

    Hit it with PB Blaster and let it soak for a while first. Mine truck has never seen snow or salt but it was still crusty.

    Im ganna have to take a look and try that, My cable is still a little loose. thanks for the correction!

    oops i called it a bellcrank. toyota calls it an "intermediate lever".

    Thanks Janster. I looked all over for a pic of it and couldn't find one. Was gonna scan my Haynes but my machine is busy.
