Anybody done this their self or paid someone else to do it ? After doing my conversion figured I should replace front wheel bearings to be on the safe side and just trying to figure out some prices.... Looks like everyone recommends timkin from rock auto that are already sealed. I'll probably purchase those and see how much someone will charge to put them in since Im at school and dont really have tools or time to do it myself right now.

Whats everyone paying/paid for front wheel bearing replacement

I took off the knuckles and brought them to a local crap shop with a press. the guy claimed he broke the press trying to remove them.
So i took them to the dealer and i paid $180.
Cost a lot more than i planned on. Don't forget to get new inner and outer seals.

I busted a 10 ton puller on mine. Took a 22 ton gear puller I fixed to press instead of pull. These can be a real pain.

Not sure if they are similar to the 2nd gens, saw this on the home page and had to reply.

Next time I think I will pay the money and have someone do it.
    Quick pics.
I had to cut the inside bearing sleeve so it would actually move on the hub.

1/4" plate steel bent from the press.

Damn, that sounds like its on there pretty good! Doesn't 2nd gen come with the whole bearing case with the 4 bolt holes? 1st gen the bearing is pressed into the whole knuckle

Shouldn't be too hard if you've got a new hub a press is a must though

Ok this is my first time doing this and I've tried to read and find all the threads I can. I have the assembly off I'm just trying to push the bearing out my self but don't want to damage anything. Can anyone tell me how to press the bearing out? Do I need to straighten out the ring that is notched in? Or do I just press down and keep going till it frees? I'm stuck guys, help a newbie out. Or forward me to a tread that will show me. Tried to get as far as I could on my own, but I'm stuck.
