    Hi,
Does anyone have experience in replacement a gear shift boot and the outer plastic part of it. I can't seem to find a place to get a new one
    Thanks

Thanks for the link to ebay. That one looks in bad condition too.

It looks like its called the "Shifter trim" and yes, I know the boot is sewn into the trim piece.

It is grey- manual- 4x4- exactly like the picture I posted for a reference.

    Thanks for your help!

    maybe you could go black...
they say once you do... you'll never go back. :D Lol

^ this looks like the boot only, so install would be required.

more options if yers isn't all torn up...

Also... you might want to post a "WTB" in the classifieds folder.
someone might have one laying around ;)

You could have a local upholstery shop make you a boot as well. My triple stick boot cost me $65. I imagine a standard setup would be much less.

Great 'More Options' link TacoDell. That looks like my next project!
I was already thinking I'd like to make it black with black liner instead of carpet.
This is what the old carpet looked like.

I took it out and currently looking at what I want to replace it with.
I found a good upholstery shop in town and will probably get my seat redone and check their options for flooring.
I've been looking around online and it seems tough to find anything that is made for a '98
I'm just getting into it so i'm sure i'll come across something soon.

That looks great! I'll get a quote from a local shop here and see what my options are.
I just took out the carpet in my regular cab and looking to replace it with something other than carpet. It was nasty from the previous owner.
I'll let you know what I do with it.
Check out the 'More Options' link TacoDell put in the thread. It shows how to use vinyl dye on the boot. Makes it look new.

Solid! vinyl flooring is what i'm looking for. It's not too expensive either.
I was researching Dynamat and came across this alternative video. The video is chessy, but the product looks legit and cheaper than Dynamat.
I'm going to research it and look into placing an order for vinyl. I will go with the black. Gray is too boring.
