Is the water pump prone to failure on the 2.7's?

    I'm looking at an 04 regular cab FWD with the 2.7L 4sp auto.

    Carfax says the water pump was replaced at a Toyota dealer @ 43K miles.

    Seems premature to me. The vehicle has 52K miles on it now.
    Is this a common event?
