My starter is Fried!!!

    my starter is ruined, it started clicking in the mornings when battery was low(which is what fried it) its gonna cost me 400$ to replace it. any preventions? bout to get crew cab yota 1st generation. should i be concerned? i mean i do have 177,000 miles on it:mad:

    A bumper here, some tires there..... you know, stuff.
    mine started to get touchy about 6 months ago. turn the key, *click*, turn it back and try again and it started. i ended up just replacing the contacts for $8 and it works like a charm.

    not sure if you're saying it's completely fried but if not you might try that before you dump $400 dollars into it

    well it started doing it about 3 months ago and i took it to the local mechanic and he said it was fried due to poor battery. my heat wasnt working as well but i went on and paid it since im about to sell. she runs good and the heat is running good as well

    i took it to local mechanic and the new battery was 123$ and the starter was about 200$ and 90$ for label, took it in this morning and was ready this afternoon. was very pleased
