I just got through about 1.5 hours ago installing the ToyTec 3" spacer and Rear AAL lift on my 2 week old 09 DCLB 4x4....I love it!! Alot of folks on here say that the spacer lift is way to stiff of a ride, but i think it rides fine. It's probably still smoother than my stock 2007 Z71 was........

With my lift, you do have to take the strut apart, since the spacer actually goes on top of the coil....The lift was not hard. Me and a buddy did it. Took us around 6 hours total, but alot of that time was spent running around trying to gather up some metric sockets that we didn't have and needed. That was the first time either of us had installed a lift before also. I didn't replace the shocks. ToyTec says you don't have to. I definitely don't have enough experience with my lift yet to know if I will want to or not.....

Just do a Google search for ToyTec lifts and you'll find 'em....

the link i posted is to one that you dont have to undo the strut , just the three bolts, not the actual spring nut in the center! and the spacer bolts to the strut and has new studs on the top for mounting !

i dont know i am just see what is out there i am new to the taco too!~

deff want a little lift though!
how much was your lift ?

I paid right around $270 for the lift, front-diff drop kit and shipping.......I def don't have the experience to say so, but I've read in these forums that some guys warn to stay away from the spacer kits that bolt above or below the strut assembly. They say that they put alot more stress on the front-end components (ball joints, etc.) than the spacers that fit inside in the strut coil.....Just FYI!

That ToyTec lift is pretty much what I put on mine. I did notice though that for the Gen. 1 kit, it says that new rear shocks are required......My advice would be to do alot of reading in the Suspension forums and get yourself informed before making any purchases...That's what I did and found all the info on here to be a huge help.....I'm new to tacoma (always been a chevy man), so i'm definitely not going to start handing out advice like I'm an expert, lol...

I haven't got pics yet, since it was 12:30 am when I finished it..Soon, though....

    I'm running 265/75R16 tires on 16x8 wheels.
