HUH, I always thought that M/T's worked better in the sand.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
From what I understand on sand you don't want to dig down into the terrain, which MTs excel at. You want to float on top of the sand and that requires something less aggressive. Some say that the best sand tires would be regular highway terrain tires.

I think that ATs are a good compromise.

My MTs sucked in the sand when they had meat on them, they always dug in & got me stuck no matter how much I aired down. My last trip to Pismo my MTs were bald, threw the ones with almost no tread left in the rear, they performed better then they ever have since I had them.

Pismo is where I go to the most, although I love the look of MTs more, I made the switch to ATs (still itching to switch back).
