I'm going to install a single din stereo but can't decide on which kit to order.

Can you give me some recommendations on what kit you choose and why.

thanks for all your help fellow members!!!!!

Scosche or Metra are your choices, one's silver and has no dimples, kinda color matched, schosche, the other is dimpled, but comes black, and uses your original metal mounting brackets, metra. Good luck. There's better info than this, but you'll have to search for it.

Check out the following thread for pictures of the 2 dash kits... specifically page 8. AeroCooper's post #147 is the Scosche. My post #153 is the Metra.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/66864-post-up-pctures-your-stereo-upgrades.html

I ordered my HU from Crutchfield and the Metra kit & wiring harness was included in the price of the HU so I didn't really choose the Metra kit. I've been pleased with mine and if I had to choose I wouldn't hesitate going with the Metra kit again. Hope this helps!

    478dblsport,

i got the metra kit just like you did. Did you alpine unit bolt into the kit or did the radio sleeve just click into place and secure the radio?

I went with the Scosche when I installed my head unit (Eclipse CD 7200 MKII) and I have had no problems.
