Mud Flaps or no Mud Flaps..

please share your opinions

 

I dont like how they look but I live down a long gravel road so I kept mine, my 98 tacoma had lots of missing paint from taking them off...

mud flaps in the back that says 4x4 !!!!

 

They are off on mine as of now, but will put the back ones back on for my travel to school and take them off when playing around so I don't rip them off.

 

Take them off. Looks horrible on a Pyrite Mica !! Send them to me and I will 'sell' them for you.

 

Its either take them off willingly now, or have them ripped off and broken later. I chose to take mine off.

 

I took mine of a not too long ago, and I have been very pleased with the way it looks now, and I swear my mileage has improved (j/k). Those stiff poc... and no more scrapping over speed bumps!

Just be aware that when you do, expect to see a little pain rubbed off underneath on the fender flairs.

 

Front off, back on. Have to have the back ones in AZ for legal reasons (not that you can't probably get away with it but why have another reason to get pulled over). Front ones cause damage just driving down the road eating into the paint. I'm sure the rears do too but since they're required... what can ya do.

 

First thing I did when I brought my truck home was take 'em off. Not a big fan of the mudflaps and taking them off seemed a lot easier then modding them. 5000 miles with them off and no paint damage. (knock on wood). My tires are big enough to leave rooster tails all the way down the sides of my truck so the mud flaps probably wouldn't do much good anyway.

 

I lost one off the front. Didn't get another one for 4 months. The side without a flap was always covered in dirt or salt. Paint was missing on that side as well.

I will keep replacing them. They work well with stock tires and light wheeling.

Same here but I did get a paint chip but I'll fix it with the cash from the sale of the mud flaps

One reason to take them off...it broke just before a 300 mile trip and the wind pinned it up against the exhaust

 

1st gen mud flaps on a 2nd gen tacoma! Thats the way to go!

 

On...to protect paint from flying gravel and road salt. I trimmed both front (~4") and rear (~2.5") sets to stop them from getting knocked off by uneven terrain. It's worked so far.

 

I think they look better off.. but i'm not willing to give up paint from salt and road rock yet.

 

i need some mud flaps if anybody has some to sell pm me and ill buy em up 05 +

 

i like them without, especially if you have some nice big tires on that sucker

but either way theyre probably gonna get ripped off, mine did on a trip up to the mountains a few months ago
