Magnetic license plate holder (all-pro)

Has anyone used a magnetic license plate holder (like a dealership uses) to attach their license plates to an all-pro bumper?

 

I wouldn't do it. Too easy to steal.

 

Thought about that also but if I have a license plate cover over the plates also I think it will look like they are attached normally with bolts going all the way through. Just trying to find the easiest way to attach and remove in the rear since I often use my hitch. For the front plate I am just going to leave it off and if I get pulled over for it (front plates required in CO) I can say sorry I was off-roading and didn't want to lose it let me attach it real quick.

 

I'm sure CO has different laws then where I live but here the front license plate isnt required if it doesnt have factory holes for a license plate.

 

magnetic would fall off if used for a permant thing. Best bet is to drill and put bolts in, or just dont put the plate on(if on the front)

 

i haven't gotten pulled over yet and i live next to a PD. i keep my plate in my glovebox just in case so I can "i didn't realize, i can put it on right now mr officer" myself out of a ticket

 

Magnets hold well. My buddy does the exact same thing on his rear plate of his Jetta wagon.

 

So decided to go with the magnetic plate holders and so far it is working great. I have not tested in the off-road yet but regular city driving and bumps works just fine.

 

I drilled holes for both of mine. Some state laws require that the license plates are secured to the vehicle and the magnets are not considered secure.
