    Dan,

    Thanks for your prompt reply!

Hold resale value!? I would say so. You guys do both new and used? Right? What would you say I could probably pay for a new one?

    Thanks again,

    Paul

Title of the ad should be
    Toyota Tacoma Aged 2 Years!

Dang, I knew these trucks held their value, but I didn't know they GAINED value. I guess these trucks get better with some good aging on them, like wood and wine:D. I bet my 2001 dbl cab is worth about 45k now. It would probably be even more if it were a 4x4!

Haven't heard back so I sent him a new one...

    Dan,

From what my brother tells me, I should be able to bring his ’09 4x4 TRD and trade it to you. He said after the trade-in, I should have enough to buy a new one and take you out for ribs! Is he messing with me?

Thanks so much for your help. Our plans for this weekend have changed and we may have to delay our move. Let's catch up next week.

    Thanks again for your help.

Oh yeah, my brother said that he would help me sort some of this stuff out so I’ll be easier to talk with since right now I know nothing!

His wife works in finance at a local Toyota Dealership and said that she would sit down with me this weekend with some guy that works in "freet sales" (what ever that means!). He'll help me understand what an Off Road vs Sport vs the Rare One you have.

Long story short, hopefully I won't be such a chuckle head when it comes to these things.

'Look forward to talking with you next week.

    Paul

On a side note - I have been in sales management and sales negotiations most of my life. I feel for some guys that are struggling right now.

I know many folks that are struggling right now. If this guy wasn't willing to apparently screw someone on this one - I would feel bad for him. It must twist him too. If it doesn't - he's a guy I would never want to buy a car from! Nor would I want him working for a company with my name associated with it!

Interesting... the dealership by my house has a few new DC Sport with the 6 speed manuals for lower than this price. Drive over one state to the northwest of there and they are not that ' rare '.

I think what was rare about it was the commission he would be looking at if he sold it to some chump - You know what would be icing is if it was a flood 'car'.

I would like to know what the final price was on that "rare" Tacoma. Some people are just too damn stupid!
