pics of dumped exhaust after axel

looking for some pics of dumped exhaust, i have a flowmaster and was thinking of losing the tailpipe..... and how did it change the sound thanks

 

like pics of the actual exhaust or pics from the rear of the truck when you cannot see the exhaust?

 

thats perfect was following a tacoma like mine the other day and he had his dumped with a chrome add on and looked awesome from the road just wasn't sure where he cut it.... and i couldn't hear any rumble must have been factory muffler

 

why would it make it quieter? it should make it louder inside the truck...since the sound will now be exiting under your truck instead of out the side.

 

that's retarded that it won't pass inspection...a dump style exhaust doesn't change the CO2 content...eliminating the 2 sets of cats (2 in headers and 2 in the y-pipe) would definitely change it...

when I had my dump style on my '94 Toyota Hard Body (last year before tacoma were made) it was a lot louder than stock...the bed tends to resonate the sound more...but i like it that way...

 

that's just retarded...do those same idiots that pass out in traffic cause a CO2 leak happen to have run a pipe directly into the cabin from the exhaust...

I have never heard of anyone passing out in traffic cause of a CO2 leak...maybe they were just drunk...

a full van of kids...DAM...how does something like this happen...correct me if I'm wrong but the only way CO2 is leaking into the cabin is maybe there is a hole in the firewall that they don't know about...

as said, a passenger vehicle's exhaust is supposed to exit/terminate outside the vehicle to prevent CO poisoning- from an idling/stationary vehicle (esp with rusty/holy floorboards).

I believe there is a federal law re this, but it should be common sense that you don't want poisonous/corrosive gas dumping out under a vehicle.

I have read accounts of cars with faulty/improper exhaust where in cold months kids are making squishy in the car in and leave it running (for heat) and they eventually go to sleep and never wake up.

 

^ dam, I was thinking on dumping the exhaust for off road reasons, but will have to wait until I get another DD.

I do sleep for +/- 30 min to recharge my batteries in the truck with the A/C running on long trips at a rest areas.

 

Our cabs are seperated from the bed. CO or CO2 is not an issue for a pickup.

 

well i have been thinkin about doin this cuz my pipes are bend to shit and its startin to look like a chevy with one broken hanger.

but as far as the co2 goes it happens on my 4runner, i dumped it behind the axle and well its pretty bad i can smell it like crazy but then again its an 89 and there are plenty of places for the co2 to get in. but i cant wait till i can finally get my rear bumper so i can reroute it.

 

first gen but same idea. And I know, the hanger is really ghetto but it was my first time ever mounting an aftermarket muffler lol.

When you point the exhaust tip at the ground, does it kick up more dust?

I use to have flowmaster super40's dumped but at around 70mph the noise in the cab was so loud it made me sick, seriously i listen to my music pretty loud and the noise from the exhaust was drowning my music. If you have a stock pipe thats a different story otherwise I wouldn't recommend the dump

 

its legal as long as it dumps past the cab
