Well just got the 4200 installed after having the first one's screen motor be DOA. Amazon overnighted me another one so just got it installed about an hour ago!

So far I love it  Ipod controls are great as is the display. Album art takes about 5 sec to load...not a huge issue. Also if you a song swap spammer the lag between song "next" hits might drive you nuts. Have to wait about two seconds between button presses or so. Not a huge issue but it is there.

Screen quality and the touch screen itself is awesome....put in Chronicles of Riddick and the picture / sound was great. Haven't gotten the DVD on SD to work yet as it only plays DivX movies....something to keep in mind if you're looking at this unit as you'll need to convert them over. It does play standard DVD's easily enough though so no worries.

Past that....it looks damn sexy! I love how it looks in my truck compared to stock: :D

Looks great. I installed a 4100 about a year ago and I love it. Did you bypass the parking brake safety?

Yep I did the bypass...it was so easy to do that I figured it was worth the extra few bucks to pick up a relay from Radioshack. I took the AUX cable and ran it under the center console....drilled out a hole into that storage area to the right of the shifter, put a grommet in it, and then ran the cable through that so I wouldn't have to see the cable laying around anymore. Looks pretty clean imo :D

I have the 4100 and love it. I also did the bypass, and ran my ipod cable into the glove box, no drilling at all.

Ouch, looks like I'll be sticking with my 4100. I do like the new UI though.

I just got my avh-p4200dvd installed last night. I have a quick question though......I also installed the HD Radio unit. Does anyone know how to find the "second" station on these? There is something called HD2 out there, where one set of radio call numbers can have multiple stations with it. I don't know how to get the other stations in. Long story short, I want to tune in to a station that is at the frequency of 101.5-2 and all I can get at the moment is 101.5

My 4200 was installed yesterday as well, I'm in love! Anyone have an issue with that little frame piece popping out when you slide the screen down to eject cd's?

My frame came with my head unit from Crutchfield.

Probably need to loosen the screws holding the unit into the bracket / frame and scoot it forward a little bit. I had to do that on mine...set it too far back the first time.

You can put in an emergency brake by-pass that allows you to flick a switch and override the safety feature on the HU. Which in the end, lets you watch DVD's whether driving or parked.
