Iphone Holder

I have used a bunch. I use to have a hard mount in my corolla, but I did not put one in the tacoma. I one I use now is: http://us.kensington.com/html/17546.html - which works very well. It's not an all integrated setup, but it puts the phone almost in front of you and below the hood line. If you are in California - I think there is some rule about attaching something to you windshield? :\

 

Does your phone slide in and out easily or does it resist moving?
Is the back mount peice removable from the holder?
Can you give any info as to what that is called on eBay?

Any chance of a Pic, showing the attachment to the Dash, or a description of what the Mount attaches to?

I have the 12v charger built-in model, on a pivot (there are several to choose from) which keeps the phone fully charged all the time, and a 3.5mm jack from Radio Shack for $ 6.99 to go into the AUX port.

I stream Pandora's App to the head unit in 3G mode, or run the iPod feature in the iPhone. Works perfect and the phone stays 100 % charged. About $ 100 for this mount and base, which is non-invasive and leaves no marks for the clip. Eventually I will hide the charger wire but the console is too tight to simply press it in and will have to be removed to get room to do it.

 

I've done lots of research trying to figure out the best, cleanest solution to mounting my iPhone 3GS. I'd prefer to mount mine pretty flush to the blank, black plastic located where the 4WD switch is for the 4WD guys.

I'd like to see some more pics of c0astie31's setup.

I'm leaning towards the Pro.Fit LoBoy (but the bolt on version) with one of their iPhone holders. That way I can rotate and orient it towards myself while driving. I'd then run a cable from the back of my HU through the nearby cubby into the iPhone.

Does anyone has pics of a setup similar to what I've described?
I've seen pics of it installed beside the climate controls, but that's a little low for what I'm looking for.

 

i use an ac vent mount. only issue is that it makes the back of the phone really cold. i ended up blocking the vent off, since with the mount, it isn't adjustable anyways.


as far as an iphone interface, i got the grom i2-toy and it works awesome!

i use an isqueeze in the cupholder. Got it for like 4 bucks shipped on ebay and it has a perfect viewing angle. Also lets you run the wire up through it so it never shows. And it was only 4 bucks, so yeah it's awesome

 

I use this and like it pretty well....cost me $18 at radioshack and is removeable quickly if need be. Just clasps over the vent.

 

Had one of these in my last car and they are amazing! Wish they made a grey so the black wouldn't stand out so much

That looks pretty cool and clean. Went to the website, does that model then work for phones as well (droid blackberry etc) or do you have to buy a special attachment every time? And can you post some pics of your from the front as well? They did not have a good photo on the website.

 

You can just get a universal adapter, that what I had in my old car. Don't have any pictures from it and don't own one of these for the Tacoma. I emailed them hoping to get them to make me a grey one.

If you click on the picture on the site there are 16 pictures of it in the Tacoma.

 

I bought a Kensington then drilled a hole in the air vent cover next to my radio and glued it to the back of the cover then simply snapped the cover back in place. Perfect for me. Clean and almost stock looking. Perfect place for the phone. Holder is great but only if you have a thin case on your phone or no case.

 

Thanks to ^Stew_Fri^ I ordered the kensington quick-release off Amazon, drilled a small hole in the plastic piece under the ac-vent to the right of the steering wheel and mounted this using thick super glue with spray accelerator and shes mounted with about 30 mins maximum, making sure everything looks good to taking my time

 

Does it fit a 4s with OtterBox?
