offroad, love some mud tires over non functional hood scoop! but if you want to go serious off roading, dont get any trd package.. just some regular sr5 4x4 and go aftermarket.. tons of saving w/ better parts

Hey I traded in my Titan for a Tacoma as well. (glad I did) How are you liking your decision so far?

Only have the Tacoma for a week now, But so far it has been great.
Miss the power seat though and a few other options. But I now have locking differential and A trac. And better gas mileage.

How about your decision for a Tacoma, have you been satisfied ?

The A-TRAC (locker traction front and rear) makes the rear locker obsolete, but nice to have both features! Go do some serious four wheeling and discover for yourself how cool it works!

Couldn't have said it better myself. I wish you could get the body painted handles and mirrors with the off-road package. I went with the sport for that reason. I personally don't like the hood scoop, but like the handles and mirrors.

    On a complete side note, I'm coming from a G35 as well.

Oh Absolutely!! Where I live now, having a full size truck is kind of a pain in the a$$. I don't have any regrets though. I just need to figure out if I want to do any modifications to this or my 4Runner. We'll see. Good luck with your truck and Congratulations!

That is the silliest thing I have read yet!

The Sport is for looks (you really wanted a 'Sport Car', but daddy said to buy a 'truck')

The Off Road is for function... it has traction controls, shocks and tires to go further off road than any other stock truck made. With the same engine as the Sport, they are not faster... in fact with the reduced visibility and reduced aerodynamics of the fake hood scoop, they are both a hazard and a gas waster... (okay, the last part was a joke)!

The hood scoop doesn't do anything ?

    Nothing. Purely aesthetic.

I wish the Off-Road package had body painted mirrors and door handles.:(

i hope the shocks and tires part was a joke too. ATRAC and locker are true.

Got the Off Road, the sport seemed like a looker and the Off Road seemed like a Do'er. Plus the sport hood is Lame.

Check how much extra the JBL system is...IMHO it is a rip off. You can buy a truck with the most basic radio in it and put aftermarket stuff in it for much cheaper!

Purchased the sports because I don't drive off road. As a home owner, I enjoy driving my Tacoma & the short bed is large enough for my needs.

Had a 1997 Tacoma & Toyata bought it back due to a recall in 2008. Thought I'd try a small SUV & went with the Outlander rather then buying another Tacoma. That was a mistake, not because the Outlander was not good, I missed a truck.

Long story short, traded my Outlander a few weeks ago & back in a 2010 Tacoma saddle. :D
