I would recommend TRD...I had one put in last wkend. After the computer reset itself, mpg went up a bit. Plus it sounds awesome when accelerating but not obnoxious. The only thing I dont like is the oil filter...might get a dry one. But I love it and would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

I have the K&N 66series but not legal for California. It's great sounding when you get on it and not annoyingly loud any other time. I'm a little against the TRD labeled Products, personally. but this is only my opinion. I've had the 66series on my 06 Taco and my new 10Taco. Power gains are more noticed in the higher RPMs and speeds. Good luck. More air in, usually means better power. Take in more air, now you need to be able to run it through your engine better. Time for exhaust. I'm in the same boat.

Crazy different arrangement with X-runner. We don't have the luxury of having our grill raise off like that. Looks great though man. Go California

There is a pic of a black tacoma with a white trimmed valance and grill. He has a recessed grill with a URD CAI. But, I think he may be using a different filter. Seemed to remember it being red. You may find it searching on valance and vinyl.

Edit: Here it is - http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/92980-grill-bumper-painted-middle.html
