A HUGE Thank You!!! to everyone for all the support! I can't believe so many people were following me out there. I can't tell you how awesome that feels! :)

I didn't finish the race this year but I consider it a massive success because of how much farther I made it compared to last year. The truck performed flawlessly and in the end it was my lack of experience and unfamiliarity with the course that ended my day. The hit that took me out of the race was a drop-off on the course after a hill climb after pit #2. Simply came in too hot (around 20mph), dropped down as the ground was coming back up, and hit solid. I had 7 hours to finish the race but was on a 5 hour pace. Next year I'll know better how to properly pace through the really rough sections.

After the hit the engine was still running and the suspension is still fine. We pulled over to check everything only because the airbag deployed. When we looked under the truck we saw oil dripping and quickly shut everything down before suffering any engine damage.

Vehicle recovery was a snap because I broke in an accessible spot, and it was the last rough and rocky section before the smooth fast miles at the end of the loop. Basically, I now know the hardest parts of the Primm course, and that's a good thing. :)

I still have to assess the damage but as of right now my skidplates are shot, the exact location of the oil leak needs to be determined after removal of the skids, the stupid differential drop pushed through the front cross-member, and I need a new steering wheel. I'll know more once I start tearing stuff apart, but right now it looks like the suspension and every custom fabricated part on the truck held strong.

    THANKS!!! ...
    - to everyone for their support online
    - to Bob for subtly including me in the banner (man, you're just plain awesome!)
    - to Derek for being there for the second year in a row to support me at this race (you and Bob should start an "awesome guy" club )
    - to Chris for the advice and levity through the years of this build
    - to David Tarantino for the awesome work your shop has always done (I didn't get a single flat!)
    - to Bob Carroll of Carroll's Rod & Racecraft for the consistently bulletproof fabrication work
    - to my family for supporting me despite my obvious insanity
    - and of course, to Martie for continuing to put up with my crap. :p

I'll post pictures and more information once I'm home and have a chance to go through everything. :)
