    Hi guys

so I want a PA address horn on my tacoma just for the fun of it, so that on my ranch i can talk through it and stuff..

Obviously most people do this through a CB Radio, but I wouldn't ever use the radio part of the CB radio..

So i am wondering if any of you guys do it with another form of amplication than a CB or if I can use a cheap CB and not hook up an antenna or anything..

I don't want one of those massive antennas on the back of my truck...

BTW: this is the horn i'm looking at using http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104031&tab=custRatings#showFullReviews

    Thanks for any help

I just ordered the 100w speaker on radioshack for 35$ (actually picked it up in store) and have a cheap uniden cb radio on the way. I don't plan on having the antenna installed for a little while just because I only want the pa speaker as well. I bought the Uniden PRO520XL from Amazon for $48. So you can have your pa system for a total of $83 ;).

Not exactly sure what else you could use instead of a cb radio.

Just make sure to keep the CB on the PA setting or it will fry the CB with no antenna.

Ooo, that's good to know, thanks. Can I turn the radio on and switch it to pa without the antenna connected? Unless you can switch it to pa when its off heh..

A CB radio is not needed. Just an amplified speaker and a mic.
A computer mic will connect to the speaker. Just get a speaker with a jack input.
