License plate bracket ?

I have not put my license plate on the front bumper because I don't like the way it looks and the holes I have to drill in the bumper. Any suggestions on brackets and or links that you like appreciated.

 

I have been considering getting the Tacoma license plate bracket from here: http://www.jewelryforcars.com/home.aspx

Didn't know if anyone had experience w/ these guys or not. And also, the Tacoma plate example on this site, appears to be in an older font, rather than what they have now. And it can be pretty pricey for a license plate frame.

 

I found that the plain black plate frame with the full black plastic back panel works the best and looks great. I got it from Advanced Auto which is like a Pet Boys or NAPA depending on where you are. The wholes line up with the factory ones that are already there (truck bought in NY, illegal to go without front plate) and the plate mounts into the frame.

I have the same thing. Looks about as good as a license plate is going to, and doesn't seem to rub the bottom part of the bumper. Keep looking though, since you don't have the holes drilled in your bumper you may have more options

 

found something for ya.... This is identical to the plate frame that I got only this guy used a drywall anchor and some washers to attach it to his camaro. It seems like this should work on the lower grill of the stock Taco's. I guess its a question of how well it holds up over time.

I to am required a front plate and as I told the dealer for both my car and truck; put holes in it and you own it. I slapped this together so they'd let me drive it off the lot. I did one in aluminum for my car, but this is temporary and made of PVC, maybe 3/16", tapped and screwed together with stainless 1/4-20 x 1/2" screws. Bent with a heat gun, split in the middle to pass either side to the center grill support and turned down behind bumper and temporarily cable tied to the aluminum rectangular tubular bumper

Well i just bought my 2011 TRD Sport crew Saturday. So I went today to get a bracket from the dealership and they don't offer one for the 09,10, or 11. I'm very hesitant about drilling holes in the bumper so any suggestions would be great..... Thanks......

 

You can limit it to drilling two holes. Get a bracket from Autozone or a similar store, you can put two screws in the top and use plastic ties to secure the bottom. Don't worry about drilling it.

 

I didn't do so because my Taco came from the dealership with holes already drilled out in the front; but I have a buddy who has his license plate attached to his Avid bull bar with pipe clamps. He's got it set off to the side out of the way. I don't have a pic but I thought it looked pretty cool. This doesn't really help you guys that don't have a bull bar though.

 

Can you get your hand behind there and put in a nut and bolt? Or could you put a screw anchor in the hole and use a smaller screw?

 

In Post #7 Above is the temporary bracket I made to keep the "Dealer Holes" out of my bumper.

Used 2" Angle Fiberglass and 1/4" PVC Drilled & Tapped for 1/4-20 Stainless Screws
3/8" Stainless Bolts - Bracket to Bar
Thumb Screws and Socket Bolts are for Quick removal for pictures and until I color match paint it
Only Contact is on "Light Tabs"
The fiberglass is quite strong, so there's little to no movement
Should be pretty self-explanatory

Why would Toyota engineer a $30k truck (or any of their vehicles) so you have to screw the plate to a plastic bumper. WTF
