I just went to the dealer to get mi brakes fixed, and i took a copy of the rear harsh ride TSB. He said they will replace rear spring assembly, rear shock absorber, front shock absorber, Toe-in, Caber, and caster, alignment, but they will not add a leaf spring because the TSB does not say to add a leaf spring for TRD packages. He told me if i did the TSB, the truck would have a rough ride without a heavy load. He said if i want to do it would be no problem. Is he making that up, or is it true? I have to call tommaro morning and let him know if i want the TSB. what do u guys think? Please post ASAP

I think the ride feels a little more solid on my '08 with the tsb. Its not just a add-a-leaf its all new spring packs. Get it done, you won't regret it.

Not to sound like an ass- but this is the problem with people "shopping" for the TSB. You don't even know what you are asking for...but you are asking for it anyways.

Your truck right now has 3 leaf spring packs. The TSB replaces those with 4 leaf springs packs. It's NOT an AAL...It's COMPLETELY new springs and hardware.

I do know what i asking for, im not stupid, i know what the TSB is, and i know what its for. The guy at toyota told me for the TRD models, they dont put 4 leaf springs. They only do shocks and springs. If it was not a TRD that would add a leaf spring making it 4.

NO- He told you they won't add a leaf....THEY JUST REPLACE THE WHOLE LEAF PACK.

He might be a bit of uneducated because he doesn't know that the new part has 4 leaves instead of 3....but it's been said a million times around here that the simple way to check is to count leaves in the spring pack AND that the TSB is NOT an AAL. If you knew what you were asking for- You would have realized that the REPLACEMENT leaf pack is what you need...NOT an AAL.

Read the TSB and understand exactly what you are getting before proceeding. Don't be surprised if you know more than the service advisor but don't act like it. Let them lead you through the TSB and point out your interpretation if it differs.

If you read the TSB it states that '05-'08 TRD models do not get a shock change. They may swap out your stock Bilsteins for the updated Tokicos that come on the current SR5s. Don't be surprised if this happens without having a clear understanding of what will occur.

just an update- i picked up my truck today, and everything was done right. They just switched out my old leaf springs and put in new ones that have 4. They truck looks like its kinda lifted from the back and I really like it. As for the ride, i cant really tell a difference, it feels the same. I will post some pictures tommaro

It rides much better after getting it done. But after about a week you won't even notice the difference.
