Put some fogs behind the OEM Grill, Tell me what u think..

Had nothing to do this past weekend so i decided to do a lil DIY and mount some lights behind the OEM Grill...Visibility did increase but its would be best to have a mesh grill,,,, tell me what you think..

 

Looks cool.

Doubt it's very functional. Seems you block a lot of the beam.

 

i agree, i've seen others behind the mesh grille, and it would be nicer with the mesh.

 

Yeah i think the OEM Grill is blocking about 40% of the beam, i have been hesitating to the the satoshi mod....mostly due to lack of funds..lol...

Do you guys think i would get more visibility with a billet grill?

Yep, a lot more. Not sure between mesh and billet, but I just installed these last week, and at any distance I can't even tell the grille is in the beam output at all.

You'll certainly get more straight-line illumination, as the billet grille won't act like a diffuser the way a mesh grille does.

For fogs, it's probably even better, since they are set at a diffused pattern, anyway, and putting a mesh over that would essentially wash them out.

A billet will reduce the beam strength, but probably not to such an extent.

 

You should be fine with a Billet grill I'm doing some off road lights behind mine and to test it out I put one of those 1,000,000 candle watt spot lights behind the grill and it doesn't block the beam or disrupt it in any way from what i can see.

Why fog beams (which should be lower, like where Toyota puts our stock ones) instead of driving or pencil beams (to add to the stock headlights)? Also, yes, the grille is blocking half of your light...

Yeah you can do it with a billet grill but if your gonna cut out the center bars, might as well go with a Grillcraft or some other mesh. I used to have a billet grill but got sick of it after a while and went with a Satoshi. Still love my Satoshi!!
