Couldn't tell you if the 5100's at 2.5 are a good ride. I will guarantee you that the eibachs at 0.85 on the 5100's will be though...

I've been planning on getting the Ultimate Lift (sort of a "stick with what's known" thing). However, my current focus is on whether the Eibach provides better overall travel, since you only need to set the Bilis at .85 for the standard 3" lift (as I understand it). I also wonder about what actual settings options there are with the Eibach setup.

    So, here are my questions:
    • What settings of the Bilis equate to what size lift when combined with the Eibach springs?
    • Which settings are off limits (too much compression and potential lift) with the Eibachs?
    • Do you have more travel per height with the eibach springs?

Front (2.75" total): 1.6" Eibach coils, Toytec 0.5" (L) & 0.25" (R) top plate spacers, 5100's @ 0.85", Built Right uniball UCA's, Differential drop, Removed sway bar Rear: TSB springs, Wheeler's 1.5" AAL, 5100's, 2* shims, Carrier bearing drop, F and R Spidertrax, 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs, Self-fabbed sliders, rear bumper, and skid plates, Cobra 75 CB, Bed lined slim lo-pro tool box, Bed Extender, Diff breather mod, Two tail gate security mods, Exhaust dumped behind axle, Can't leave shit alone so plenty more coming...
The coils state 1.6" if I remember correctly. Plus the 0" setting on the 5100's is obviously still 1.6". The 0.85" setting puts you up to the 2.5" range. I wouldn't recommend moving the 5100's to 1.75" in combination with the eibachs (You're just pushing it too high which will bind cv's, ball joints, etc). I suppose you could safely try it. Just watch out for binding and premature wear. One option to exceed the 1.6"+ 0.85" is to do the 0.5" top plate spacers on top of the set up. This is what I have and it works great. Actually my passenger side is 0.25" instead of 0.5" to correct the lean. Amount of actual lift will vary vehicle to vehicle based on weight. I have a DC which is heavy. Mathematically, I have about 3.2" of lift. In actuality, I only have about 2.75". When I add a front bumper and winch (soon), I'll probably have to replace my front suspension with something heavier to keep my 285's clear. I imagine I'll be selling my coils and 5100's about Christmas time.

The more you compress your coil (higher 5100 settings), the less down travel you'll have available. Since the eibachs would be combined with a low or no setting on the 5100's, yes you'd have more travel available. The ball joints are going to be binding before you run out of shock travel. Hence aftermarket uca's.

Thanks a bunch. I suppose what you've said is pretty much what I thought, but it's good to hear it from someone with experience.

In theory, having multiple choices would be a good thing. In reality, it just gives me a headache.

I have the Adjustable Coilovers and the 1.5 TSB leaf on mine. I also have Lightracing UCAs. If you buy the Toytec Coilovers, AAL and the Lightracing UCAs at the same time, you can probably get a discount. Call Toytec.

Here's a question that for some reason has evaded me thus far. I had basically assumed that the Ultimate, 5100/Eiback w/ 1/2" top spacer, and OME lift all provided approximately the same 3" lift. However, what I've read seems to differ a bit. So...

Does the Ultimate provide a true 3.5" after settling while the 5100/Eibach w/ 1/2" top spacer only provide 2.75?

That is my assumption...set the front at a full three inches of lift; if front sags, crank it up a little more to compensate. Hopefully an expert will chime in!!

I haven't heard of the eibach spring sagging much over time. I think once it settles, it should be good. The ultimate may provide the 3.5" but I don't think you should exceed 3" when lifting a 4x4, as it;s bad for CV's etc...
I don't plan od adjusting mine, so the 5100's with the eibach spring is ideal for me...especially $ wise. I think that if you went with the 1/2" on drivers side, and 1/4" on pass side and get 2.75" of lift it's so close to 3" that I'd call it a day...

    I ordered a 1/4 in one. I'm wondering if I should get a 1/2 in one too?
