Does the 1998 vs 1999 TRD 4x4 Tacoma have the same brakes?

I went to Anything Auto to buy some EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads and Centric Premium rotors.

Anything Auto did not list any EBC "Yellow Stuff" brake pads for a 1998 Tacoma but, they listed them for a 1999 Tacoma. So I then went to EBC website and there is a different part number listed for each year. for 1998 DP4807R and DP4992R for 1999.

It was my understanding that the 1998 and 1999 had identical brake pads and rotors.

I don't want to order the wrong part and Anything Auto doesn't list anything for the 1998. I also called Anything Auto but, they were not much help.

Call a dealership and ask for part numbers.

If they're the same, then.......they're the same. If not...then ask them WHY and/or if you could interchange them.

    I would've assumed they're the same also????

I think I heard TRD's have bigger brake calipers...could be mistaken though

Base model tacos had different calipers than the 4x4/prerunner tacos, they are smaller so I believe the rotors are smaller as well. The pads are different. I'm looking in my Haynes manual now, and the photos for the 2wd are smaller than the 4wd.

Does anyone know of what EBC pads and Centric Rotors that I should order for my 1998 TRD 4x4?
