I prefer HAM, so much more versitile. However some are still behind on the times and use CB's

After a little researching, I've decided I'll put a 2m in my truck, with a 1/4wave whip on the rooftop. I just ordered my ARRL study guide for the tech tag.

As an aside, I got a novice license once, way back when I was in High School. It took *NINE MONTHS* for the FCC to send me my license after I completed the test! By that time, being a kid, I'd moved on to new interests. But I still remember my call letters from then. I wonder if I'll be able to reactivate them...

If they havn't been reassigned then you can apply for them through the vanity call system. check www.vanityhq.com for lots of info on vanity calls. You can check the FCC ULS data base to see if its currently available. If you post what it is i will check for you.

Not even in the database... must have been a long time ago. Once you get your license you can apply for it as a vanity call.

Ouch! But, if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.... ;)

    That would have been 1977.

hahaha... yeah... that explains it. but, yeah you can get it back no problem. It's pretty cheap to apply for a vanity and i've never heard of them turning one down unless its a call that is already applied for by someone else or one that isnt allowed.
