    BFG AT TKO2s 34 x 10.5 x17, Leer 550 Tonneau cover, weather tech digi fit liners, Viper 5901 remote start/security, 2" fr spacer, 3" TC AAL, All Pro IFS skid plate, Trans skid plate & Transfer Case skid plate, 12" roof mounted flip down dvd player, In channel vent visors.
    The more i read the more I am getting turned off these 3" lifts.
    Im concerned there will be problems if I don't get the UCAs from Toytec. They are an expensive upgrade to this kit. Thoughts?

    ive got a 3 inch and my truck alligned fine, i asked the guy how hard it was and he said a little harder than normal but nothin to bad and its alligned perfect

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    And by "Perfect", There is no way he got it back into the 0* toe, 0* Camber, and 2+* caster that is Perfect when lifted 3". The alignment may be "In spec", but by sacrificing caster, and adding a little more Camber.

    I ordered a set of the LR ucas today :)

    I'm only at just over 2'' right now (OME 884s) but I plan on installing my top plates pretty soon and when I do I didn't want any problems.

    I wonder if it really differs from truck to truck?! My friend has a d-cab long box and had the OME 3" kit installed with the top plates, and the dakar springs...got his alignment pretty good at 0 toe, 0 camber, and 2.0/ 2.1 caster. I have 2.6 ish inches, and I just barely squeeked out 1.9/ 2.0 caster on mine...both ride the same as before the lifts. I would say try it out, and see what happens...maybe you'll get lucky like my friend.

    i don't have them and i have had no trouble, my alignment is in spec and is not an issue, and the tires may wear a little uneven. at the time of the lift, i didn't have the extra money for them. i will probably get them when the money adds up a little more, but not for now.

    100%stock, except for the exhaust leak and custom windshield crack mod
    I have a Toytec kit and have not had a single problem with my alignment or anything really. Didnt need UCA's or anything. The only thing i would have changed, is got some heavier coils, I put the Allpro and a winch and it kinda squats in the front now.

    You need a reply that says...

    UCA's are cheaper than tires. After your tires wear out in a year (instead of 4 -5 years) you'll wish you'd bought the UCA's.

    To get an opinion from someone who doesn't have UCA's, and who doesn't have their truck set at the ideal alignment settings?:eek:

    How can anyone who doesn't know how good their truck can actually drive, give a reliable opinion?

    Most of them believe that anywhere in factory spec. is good!:rolleyes:

    You need to do your research and decide for yourself. After the 3" lift my truck handled O.K. like a truck. (I figured it was a truck and I couldn't expect much)
    But after the UCA's were installed and the "IDEAL" alignment was achieved.
    My truck handled like a sports car! (Well maybe not that good, but way better than when it was stock):D

    Also even if you get UCA's?
    If you don't get it set up correctly, you're just wasting your money!

    I dont have them for my Tacoma, but I did order up a set for my 4runner. I just want to get the lift done right the first time.

    For the Tacoma, I dont plan on ever getting any because I may not even need an UCA in the future :D

    Sorry don't mean to hijack, and I know it's kinda newb, but can someone explain to me the whole UCA thing? I figured out that it means upper control arm, right? Now what is the purpose of changing them out? Are they adjustable? What's with the uniball or ball joint thing? Other than helping with alignment, what are the benfits?
