Any reason your looking at 2 person tents if your solo backpacking? Obviously room, but the solo tents are roomy enough for gear, etc.

Out of the choices you provided I would go with the Timberline or Apex 2xt.

But here are a few I would look into: (all solo tents by the way)

    ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 1.0 1-Person 3-Season Tent

    Eureka Spitfire Tent 1-Person 3-Season

    Eureka Solo Backcountry 1 Tent

I have the Eureka Apollo 2 (Zeus 2 depending on where it was bought)
and I love it! I can set it up in less than 2 mins. It does have downsides like ventilation and its definitely not a summer tent. but Eureka is a good name, and they are very durable. Just remember Eureka Tents DO NOT come with factory SEALED seams. :D learned the hard way!

If you're set on these, then I would go with the Tetrahon(?) -- simply for the weight.

Carrying a 2-man tent for solo backpacking ain't no kinds of fun. I carry a Sierra Designs Lighting II (no longer manufactured) because I'm a big guy, and I need the extra room. I went with that one because it packs up small and weighs just over 3 lbs. But, I wouldn't want to risk it in a windstorm.

Personally, I like sleeping under the stars, and I would rather carry a bivy sack for the rain/bugs. But I couldn't justify having both when I need to have the tent for when the girlfriend comes along.

ok i was at the store and i think i am going to go with this tent
    eureka apex 2xt adventure 7'5" x 4'11" x x 44" 5.9 lbs $80
cheap looks well made has a full rainfly, good air circ. , and light

as for the weight i used to carry a 12+ pound tent
so it is really not about the weight for me
i also bring a 12 pack tall boys and a bottle of vodka and 100+ rounds ammo
    lol
my pack weighs about 90lbs on most trips
but im not hiking very far 5 miles at most....

The lighter the tent the more booze and ammo you can carry :D

Good choice though! After you camp with it, you should give us a review!

haha i would love to find one of those! even if I dont have the right things... i can make do with my resources! hell... the cavemen did it! :D
    :D
x2 on REI. they have a good selection.
sweet! write a review when you use it!
x2! I usually carry a tarp with me when I go backpacking. I usually hang it above the tent (tent is a little older so it tents to leak a little bit) but I can also store wood and my gear under the tarp as well if it rains. Just a little bit extra weight for some peace in mind that i will have dry stuff when i wake up. Also, if anything should happen to the tent (which stuff has happened (limb fell on one of my nice tents when i was on a day hike and ripped a massive hole in it) I can always make a tarp shelter.

those hooligans are nice little tents. my buddy has one that him and his gf use on trips. I have been looking for something with a nice sized vestibule so i can chill in the tent if its raining and cook my food (when I am not in bear country that is)
