Drive them all, buy the one that speaks to you. I always wanted a Tacoma, and I LOVE the one I have...but the FJC has really grown on me. 4Runners are always awesome, but its going to take some extra ching to get it to "badass" status in my eyes.

No. You are correct. The top-heavy center of gravity I mentioned earlier gives all SUVs that ponderous look (and feel) when maneuvering offroad.

However, the shorter wheelbase would make up for it in capability. Love or hate the driving feel, the improved angles would help. The only real disadvantage to a top heavy center of gravity offroad, aside from feeling sluggish and bloated, is an increased risk of rollover on high-angle terrain.

I really like the new 4runners, but I have not driven or even got in one. They look alot better now, and they have the new engine. I don't like the fact that they no longer offer the true limited slip diff, they now offer ATrac, which does function but man would it suck if you blew a fuse when you need ATrac. You would not have to worry about that with a proper LSD. JOE>

As much as I love my Taco, amen. If I could take my tires with me.

I test drove the new 4Runner Trail and it was by far my favorite vehicle I have ever driven, and that's a statement.

LOL well I guess it depends on where you are in Colorado. I love FJs and 4Runners. But here in the mountains, I don't think I could live without my truck and the versatility it gives me. I guess if I lived down in the cities and just wanted a pleasure craft I might go with the FJ. If I had Cherry Hills money, a 4Runner Trail Edition would be nice. But I haul firewood and rock and even sleep in the back of my Tacoma (6ft bed access cab). Adding a shell to it gives me the best of all worlds. :)

fugly, signals in front headlights sticking out as well as tailights sticking out design ruin this car, not to mention the interior the Tundrarized it, too much plastic, went back to whip antenna, and lost led's only translates into cheapened it...
to this day best looking 4runner was 1996-1998 before the ugly sticking out front bumpers came out...

On second thought, I think this about wraps up what you should base your decision on. I've heard of people be stoked about the fj all to sit in it and hate it because it's lacking in visibility. This is not my opinion, just what I've heard.

    a lot!
Either of the 3 if built properly are going to wheel well. The FJC has the most offroad support. The tip angle on a FJC is quite a bit higher then most think as well.

The 4runner if I had unlimited funds and didn't need a truck bed would be my choice. Although the FJC may be setup to wheel a little better it is quite difficult to see out of. The tacoma and 4runner are much easier to see out of.

All 3 have advantages and disadvangtages but for me it would come down to fundage. Unlimited funds go with the 4runner, FJC if funds r limited, Tacoma if funds r limited and u need a truck bed.
