    Details on Electronic modifications:

Glass-Mount Dual-Band Amatuer Radio Antenna - It works... considering replacing it with a standard antenna though.

Yaesu FT-857 All-Mode All-Band Amatuer Radio Transceiver - Radio has been "SoftModded" to expand TX capability. Can output 50 watts on 2m and 70cm bands, and can operate on CB, FRS, and other bands in emergency situations only.

The FT-857 display even matches the "Tacoma Orange":

CB Radio Antenna - Used when going camping with friends.

I originally attemped to mount the antenna at the front of the bed next to the cab, but I couldn't get it tuned properly at that location. It was MUCH easier to tune when moved to the back of the bed. It also provided a very short grounding location, which is why you see the wire going from the antenna mount to the bed side bolt.

UltraGauge - mounted using supplied suction mount. Cabling ran to OBD2 port and hidden under rubber seal at the front of the door.

Pioneer Avic X920BT Receiver - Provides In-Dash Navigation, AV Receiver, DVD Playback, and BlueTooth Hands-Free capabilities. Has had "bypass mod" performed.

(And yes, I know the Scosche kit's trim ring isn't installed... it was missing from the kit so I had to call to have one sent. I just haven't pulled the dash back apart to install it.)

The wheels are Pro Comp 7089's with 4.5" backspacing. This does cause the tires to stick outside the fender a little; nothing bad and in fact I think it gives it a more aggressive stance.

    Blacked-out Badges -

After reading this thread, I decided that Plasti-Dip would be the easiest way to black out my badges. I wasn't looking forward to the idea of removing them, painting them, and re-applying.

It came out quite well. I was pretty nervous about taking a rattle can to the paint, but it worked exactly as described. I wouldn't do this mod any other way after seeing the results.

After the success of using Plasti-Dip to black out my badges, I decided to try it on the bumper and grille. If it doesnt hold up, it's easy to "repair", and will let me see the look before doing anything permanent.

    Front Grille -
It's either staying black or I'm buying a color-matched grille. Unsure if I'm satisfied with this look, and considering coating the center of the grille to match.

    Rear Bumper -
This turned out pretty well. I chose to completely remove the bumper, and then removed the lights and plastic from it before applying the Plasti-Dip.

Wet Okole front seat covers installed.

They are charcoal and black, have "map pockets" on the backs of each, and the Toyota logo on the front.

I'm not a sticker guy, but I did apply a decal to the rear window. Now if only I could get a Tacoma World decal....

Nice truck. Partial to silver myself. The badges really look better in black on the silver Tacoma, don't they.

I definately love it on the bumper and the badges. I'm still on the fence about it on the grille, but only because I'm not 100% sure about the look. It's certainly holding up well on every place I've used it so no complaints about durability.

I think I'm going to experiment with blacking-out the lower front bumper, and then either do the black headlight mod or buy darker headlights from eBay. Then I think the black grille will flow a little better. If I still dont like it, then I'll just get a color-matched grille (but at $6/can, the plasti-dip is certainly worth a shot and much cheaper than a grille!).

Looks good with the silver and black. You can't go wrong with the color match either.

Thanks for posting this, I just scored some 8.5 wide rims that make the tire stick out a bit, but someone posted a snooty remark how wheel outside of the wheel well doesnt look good, so I was feeling self conscious. Good to see that the best looking 5 lug I have seen has the same thing. I see no reason why it doesn't look good.

    Not yet.
I like your truck. I just have a quick question concerning the wheels and tires. What size tires are those and do you have a lift or is it stock?
