Did you ever take any english classes? Your posts are very hard to read.

If your cop buddy says they are legal why doesn't he sign off the ticket?

its up to that specific cop to judge if it's legal or not. depends if that specific cop wanted to do anything about it or not.

get some 1500 grit and 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand your tail lights. hahaha then re-tint them after you clear your fix-it ticket.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Yikes! That is some abhorrent grammar.. type like you text? Or, maybe it was a text? Is that possible? Sign of the times...

Anyway yes, this kid violated the TN statute regarding vehicle lights. That state is pretty strict. He now has a period of time in which he can make the necessary corrections, and that is why he wants to borrow someones stock DOT approved tail lights - to get out of the ticket.

Anyway... I assume the tail lights are smoked, with LEDs?

In Tennessee, the vehicle code states: 55-9-402. Lights required on motor vehicles....
    (b) (1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with two (2) red tail lamps ....

Your legal requirement is for red lamps, not smoked. Does not matter if when lighted they emit a red light.

Sections 55-9-406 and 55-9-4 forbid glaring or dazzling vehicle lights. The vehicle's owner can ensure this by using tail lights used by car manufacturers (DOT approved) and additionally by adding an anti-glare device approved by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

Under section 55-9-409, if a driver is found to be driving with headlights or tail light devices not approved by the state, the patrol officer will give the driver 24 hours to replace the faulty equipment. The driver may be required to appear in court and prove compliance. If the equipment is state-approved but out of adjustment, the driver has 48 hours to correct it. Sections 55-9-411 and 55-9-412 provide for inspection stations were a driver can have headlights and tail lights properly adjusted and get compliance certificates.

    Hope this helps. -dw

It's also required to have a red reflector in it. If that reflector is covered it's no longer legal.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
As for the bumper, the airbags are inertia driven and do not have crush sensors in them. As for the lights, I have no comment.

His truck looks good except for all those damn holes left from removing the fender flares.
