^This is correct. It's a great feature to have. People occasionally ask if it is possible to add A-TRAC to a non-off road model Tacoma and the answer to that question is no.

I ordered it because of the Locker. Trac has been a pleasant surprise. A-TRAC remains to be tested, but I hear good things.

Did you somehow purchase something without knowing what it was?

Uh...yeah. If you got a free Tacoma, you don't get to complain about anything ever at all.

You can still go off road in it. You just will not have A-Trac. It by the way in in the center console below the radio and in between the power outlets if you were to have it. At least it is on my '11

You got a great present... and while you don't have A-TRAC or the Hydraulic Brake Booster... You still have TRAC and AUTO LSD aided with a vacuum brake booster...

In H4, TRAC is an effective limited slip system. Now, look up the YELLOW WIRE MOD. to discover how to get TRAC/ AUTO LSD to work while in L4 (Low Range 4WD)... It is an easy mod, and will greatly enhance your off roading. Currently, Toyota only has a limited slip/locker system in L4 on the Off Road TRDs.

    Have fun!
