Actually, yeah when i was turning into to the neighborhood a few months ago my truck was covered in mud and all the little kiddos playing outside (who's daddies have big chevys, fords and dodges) were all cheering me on as i drive by :D.

And now that i think about it, not once i have i ever seen a spec of mud on THEIR trucks.

Everytime I see a wrecked one the cab looks almost untouched.

It's not just about function it's about looking good and impressing people too. The problem is that when you keep your big truck clean all your doing is showing off what you HAVE...

A muddy truck says "Hey look what I can DO..."

Seems to me that all that mud says is hey everybody LOOK at ME,LOOk at Me EVERYBODY, kind of like a poser.

I'd rather see guys with a bit of mud here and there than guys with a set of M/Ts, big lift, and plastic nerf steps cruising through the Costco parking lot that try giving you the "what's up" face. Yes, yes, I see that you can handle multiple pallets of soup and 36 rolls of TP.

But yes, a clean Taco is a good Taco, too. Do the trails, take the pics, clean it up. Make it shine off road (with performance) and on road (with some TLC).

I got more from this weekend:

When you are filling up at the gas station and make instant friends with the other taco driver filling across from you.

When filling at a gas station threatens the Honda Ridgeline driver enough that he needs to rev his engine at you.

Ohhhh dont worry, i cleaned it off the next morning, its amazing how much gunk got under my skid plate. I was just laughing at how the little kids looked so amazed.

And yeah, kinda reminds me of the nuclear fall out videos from the 50s...Forget building a shelter, ill stay in my tacoma :D lol.

I know thats a rather random thought, but whatever. haha.

    -You dont have AAA

-You can tell its a family member arriving for Thankgiving dinner by listining to the rattle of their Toyota in your driveway.

-It takes all weekend to replace your factory speakers with upgraded speakers

I think this is just a general rule on all cars. My Honda took special mounts in the doors, and my brother's Pontiac took special tools.

when you dont give a second thought to entering your daily driver in a demolition derby...knowing it has to drive cross country the next day

when you buy a new tundra and your dad buys your reg cab base tacoma and sells his 3 year old corolla

when that corolla sells in a day for full asking price...without even looking under the hood

when the person that buys that carolla pulls up in a beat to shit geo prism with 300k. that theyre getting rid of because of leg room

when you step up to a V8 tundra...and miss the way the 4 banger accelerated

when you walk out your front door to see seat belts hanging out of every car in the driveway

when you know it takes 4 clicks of the starter to hear that VROOOM. every. time.

when that 4.7 sounds like a diesel when its below 30 degrees

when your dad makes you change out the custom radio for the stock one

when the cd player of the stock radio works better than the $600 one

when you spend a day swapping radios around from 20 years worth of vehicles and theyre all plug and play

when the '84 pickups have more aftermarket parts than your '01 tundra

when a factory skid plate costs double that of a purpose built offroad one

When your truck is submerged in an ocean, set on fire, dropped off a building, and still beats out a Bugatti Veyron to be on display in the Top Gear studio...
