Went camping this weekend out in Jacumba, CA to hike the Valley of the Moon. I took my GF and actually proposed to her on Thanksgiving evening after our feast - fortunately she said YES! :D

I snapped some photos of our site and the new Napier Sportz III with a Truck bedz in the back. It was an awesome set up and it went down to 31 F last night - no problems, stayed toasty warm in our sleeping bags!

Looks like fun. Tent looks sweet too. Funny that you titled it about the tent over getting engaged. Haha. Congrats brother.

Haha. No worries. It is a truck forum after all. :) It looks like you have that mattress that is made for Tacomas. Is it? The one thats made to fit around the wheel wells.

Yup, its tapered to fit between the wheel wells and then it flares out and extends over the tailgate the full width of the bed.

Super easy, took about 15-20 by myself.

I am also curious about this as I used to have one of these with my 1st gen Tacoma and loved it. Sold it with the truck when I got rid of it, but now would like another one. I thought that the bed was too short on the DCab short bed to work, but that's what you have.

    What brand/model is it?

So the model is the 55099 which is labeled as being for a midsize quadcab. I intially ordered 55044 which is designed for the 1st gen Tacomas and it would have been too narrow.

    Congrats.
The location looks similar to Joshua Tree. No worries being so far south? I've heard some bad stories from Jacumba.

    Really??

I haven't heard any of those stories....

Can you elaborate any on some of the stand out stories? I am very interested because it is a really fun place to visit.

It is pretty remote and right on the border. With all the footpaths, it is clear that it is frequently traveled. Being so remote there is no way the Border Patrol can keep it cinched up.

Yeah, the wind was gusting around 15-25 mph on Thursday (Thanksgiving) but no problem for the tent.:D
