I have done the searches - no help. The truck rides real stiff. Here are the specs:
    2004 ExtraCab SR5 4x4
    255/75/16 BFG AT's
ARB Front Bumper w/M8000 Winch mounted
OME 882 Front Coils - Heavies
    90004 Front Nitrocharger Sport Shocks
    OME Dakar CS 046R A/B Rear Leaf's
    N85 Rear Nitrocharger's

I did seem to get more than the advertised 2-2.5" of lift as well - closer to 4..25"(w/spacer, since removed). 1st Pic before lift, 2nd After, and standing level w/KM2's before I changed the tires.

On rough blacktop it basically makes you feel like you are riding a horse - but out of time with the up and down rhythm. It is quite the shock to your internal's - believe me. However, larger bumps off road are like butter. Nice and smooth. What can I do to achieve a smoother ride? Change springs? Change shocks? To What? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try removing your sway bar, really makes the suspension feel like a suspension, atleast for me it did.Just a suggestion, so don't chew me out lol .

I think the kit is doing it's job...The OME kit is designed to be off road, and with those 882s with your ARB it will make it a stiff ride on top of that...
I have the 881s and they are a little stiff, but I think it's a better ride than stock.
I think that ARB with the 882s might be part of the problem, it's just a heavy bumper!

    Good luck.

The 2-2.5" lift numbers are over new stock. Yours were probably worn and sagging a fair amount.
New springs will also settle and soften slightly after a few miles.

on the 1st gen's it makes the truck VERY tippy, I wouldn't suggest doing this.

The original springs had 25k miles on them and the bumper/winch had already been installed at that measurement. So that makes a bit of sense. The springs have now been installed for 16k miles and about a year. They have dropped a bit but the ride has not improved - has probably worsened. Truck has 41k on it and is in great shape so do not want to sell - looking for a solution - not willing to accept it as is. That being said I know I need to change the setup to better meet expectations. Just wondering what that setup might look like. Do I install 881's and hope between that and the shocks it mellows a bit? Or do I change the shock and leave the 882's installed. Where to start?

For example I have a Defender and as purchased it had heavies in front with stiff shock, and medium rear coils with a stiff shock. Changed the rear shock to the softest OME offers and now it rides quite nice. The short wheel base tends to give a harsh ride anyway but the shock helped it relax a bit. In fact now the Defender rides better than the Tacoma!

Looking for the same change here. Thanks for the ideas!

    Rear: 30psi

    I see 2 possible things:

    1. Are you sure OME sent the correct LENGTH springs? 882's can come in several lengths for different applications... If your spring is too long = too much preload, and also why you might have had to ditch the spacer.

    2. Wrong shock choice. Many off-road shocks are more ridgid on the small stuff and softer on the big hits as a result of their specific valving. This is always an issue when trying to outfit a daily driver that sees alot of asphalt. You could potentially benefit by swithcing to a more 'plush' shock.

-Also with the shocks, they could have been intended for a 1gen on 881s stock otherwise... the 882s and the additional front weight could be 'tricking' your shock valving in a bad way.

    Good luck!
