I really wouldn't rely on the internet for that info. They also say CA is 70% which is wrong. We can technically be cited for ANY tint on the front section of the car, front sides, or strip across top of windshield.

then I guess I will have to ask the guy at the tint shop! He will know right?? Cause he is a buddy of mine and he told me 32% is lowest I can go

He should know... If it were me I would get it darker anyways. The CA DMV book says this:

    • Do not drive with tinted safety
    glass. If you have sun-sensitive
skin, you may use removable sun
    screens during daylight travel
if you have a letter from your
    physician.

    but it also says this:

    • Do not drive a vehicle equipped
with a video monitor if the monitor
is visible to the driver and
    displays anything other than
    vehicle information or global
    mapping displays.

    and this

    • Do not wear eyeglasses with
    temples wide enough to keep
you from seeing clearly to the
    sides.

    Nobody follows this shit...haha

when i got my windows tinted, i wanted them to match the stock tint. but they told me that they couldnt exactly match it because toyotas tint was in between 15% and 20%. so i went with the 20 % and i think it looks pretty good. i wish all my tint was darker...

here is my signature blown up a bit...best one i have. you can tell the front is a little lighter than the back too

i think 32% is the lowest you can do and be legal in NC just sayin my friend has 5% and has to roll down his windows everytime he comes here cuz the cops always try n pull him over

but he lives in charlotte and they dont mind there, but when he goes to rural areas cops with nothin to do do care ;-)
