... on my truck... It's in the shop, and I'm driving this nice GM car around. Smooth ride, looks good, but all day I just sit here, calling the shop, waiting to hear word on when I can get my truck back..... I want to clean it out, wash the rims, make it all shiny... I'm not the only one, am I?? I really miss my truck, and it's weirding me out.

I know how you feel, but on the same note, working at a Toyota shop, we REALLY hate when people keep calling seeing when they're stuff's gonna be done. It's even worse when they just show up and expect to be able to hangout and watch.

I got jealous when the alignment guy drove my truck. I was all worried while he took it for a ride to test out his adjustments.

i hear ya. when my passat was in the body shop my ins co hooked me up with some rentals, nice ones too, and i always pined for my car back. never did take advantage of the "all rental cars are 4wd" rule though.

    Yes.
I am always concerned about any of my vehicles when they are in the shop. However, I am allowed to be there and hang out. That is what they have to deal with because of one tech making a mistake during an oil change on my car. As long as I can be there, I am okay...

My truck never leaves my side (more like a huge shadow), I can see it from my office, its all tucked in the garage at night, and no one else drives it but me. This is my favorite car I've ever had/driven.

    .

About a month ago I was at a BMW dealer later in the evening (about 2100 hours) and was very surprised at what I saw. ...

The car wash guys were driving 2 BMWs (on the back lot) like they were on an "European Road Racing Circuit". ...

One was an M3 and I could hear the tires squealing a block away. ... :D

I worry too. I worked at a car dealership many years ago and saw stuff that would make any owner cringe. I've also had bad experiences myself. On that note, whenever i take a vehicle in because of a weird noise I take the radio fuse out because it never fails, they give the car back to me saying that they couldn't hear/duplicate it...but when i get in the car the radio is on some rap station and the volume is up. So no, I don't think it is strange to worry or miss a vehicle... the worry is justified, and when you pay 25-30K for something that takes you everywhere, is a source of enjoyment, doesn't judge you and is there when you need it I think it's okay to miss it when it's gone. Just my $.02

We should have that right :D. How does it make you feel when your truck is in the hands of another person?

When I saw the title I went "why the fuck is this in the 2nd gen section..." then I read the post lol.
I fuckin' love my truck I'm the only one who touches it, it's my baby and I take it with me everywhere. My motto >> either you stuff in the back seat or you don't go at all.

Sorry bout your father... We know it's only stuff, but I assure you that if any one of us walked out in the morning and found that an oak tree had crushed our truck or it had been taken to Mexico for parts, even with the knowledge that our wives and children were safe and our health was good, God still loved us and the ins. co. had our back...it would still throw the weekend off a little. It is only stuff..."it all burns in the fire" as my mother used to say, but it is something we can take a little pride in and enjoy (and post a funny thing about).

It is all just stuff, but while I have my stuff, I want to make sure I'm responsible for all the other stuff that goes wrong with my stuff, so I can fix the stuff, and make my stuff, well, my stuff.

Off to get'r from the shop! She's good to go.

So the picture of my rental shows on the home page and makes it look like the OP loves the HHR. My apologies. In an effort to but a better spin on it here is this pic:

It's strange, but I lend my truck out to the in-laws to do some house repair/yardwork etc. But after about 3 days I start getting wigged out that I can't see it or have it at my disposal at anytime. They leave us with a fine suburu for a trade so im not driving a POS or anything, but it just gets to me. Im a little concerned?!

Is this a new help group? TA=Tacos Anonymous
