Nitto Terra Grapplers info

Looking to buy tires for my truck. Want to know if a lot of people here are using Nitto Terra Grapplers. Want to put on 265 75 16's mounted of fj anthracite wheels. How do they wear, run, and handle off road. Pics are welcome! Thanks

they are the meanest looking at's IMO

 

Tires are awesome and not terribly loud like others. Don't off-road, but confident they're all I need if I wanted to.

 

They hardly make any noise on the road. They are terrible in the rain though.

 

Do you have the wheels already? If not, they are very hard to get...

Should be a nice looking setup.

 

Wheels are on order! What do u mean they are bad in rain. I am in Florida and it rains quite a lot.

 

I put 265/75/16 Terra Grapplers on my 2010 DC about 2000 miles ago. I'm in FL too. We haven't had a whole lot of rain lately but the tires have been fine in the few rain storms we've had.

I used to be into BFG All Terrain KOs but tried the Nittos to save a little money. So far I am very satisfied. On the road they ride good and are pretty quiet, only slightly louder than the OEM Rugged Trails. Haven't been in mud yet but they're great on the beach.

One of the things I liked about the BFG All Terrains is the mileage. Time will tell about these. They have tread depth comparable with the KOs so I expect tread life will be similar.

Bottom line is I'm very happy with the Terra Grapplers.

 

I'm from Alaska, for all season tires, they do amazingly well in the rain and snow. I was surprised driving around the Utah slush days without much of an issue.

Had the NTGs before going with these.........
IMO, the Duratracs are meaner looking than the NTGs, they are AT as well but will admit that they are barely louder than the NTGs were on frwy. I had no issues with the NTGs, just wanted something different this time.............

 

here are mine, this shot is the rear right tire, it was from my first flex, except it wasnt no where near as good as others so i didnt bother with a pic, just took this one cuz it was all tucked in.


and for the rain, they handled good, never really got lose unless i was trying to to.
In mudd they ok i guess, but if its a field of mudd u might not be so happy, but im glad with them, i went with the D range, and a lil hum at highway speeds, nothing that ur music wont cover.

no snow action...yet!

 

oh yeah! forgot to add, 265/75/16.

and it looks like my wheels r all scrached but its just mudd.

 

How are the 285s in the snow? Do they plow or hold the road in 2wd

 

I have been running 265/75/16 Terra Grapplers and they have been great tires. They have about 37,000 miles on them and they are getting pretty worn. They are not very good off road when its wet. I had to use 4x4 to get up some wet grass on a slight incline. Besides they're shortcomings off road they are great tires.

 

Replaced my AT20s with 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers.

First impressions? Better in the rain than the AT20s (at 22k my AT20s sucked in the rain). They are quite a bit louder but I'm ok with it. Dry handling is good. I'm sure snow performance will be better too.

Only thing I'm unsure about is wear. They are cheap so that's a good thing and I'm sure they'll last longer than the AT20s, but they're no high mileage tire like the BFG ATs...

 

Just a heads up... I had the wheels on order 3 different times, all 3 times Toyota blocked my order. Others had the same problem as well. I hope they lifted the restriction, but my gut tells me they didn't.

 

Rain and snow, no bueno.
