I'm new to Tacoma World, I looked around a little bit and couldn't find much on gun racks. I have a 2001 PreRunner Reg Cab and I need a gun rack. The single cab makes things tricky, but I was thinking of putting one behind the bench seat. Has anyone done anything similar? Theres no space for one on the window, but i need a gun rack to hold 2-3 guns for the hunting camp. If anyone has any pictures or advice I would appreciate it.

drop in k&n for now. Deckplated. Got rid of the intestinal airpipe and baffleys. Replaced with shiny big pipe of more straightness.
    Hellos.

Looking for a gunrack my self for 01 access cab taco.
Might do something with some molly sheaths I have and some seat covers with loops for em..But havent seen to many hardware type ones.(Given just started looking).

If I find anything Ill let ya know.
Ordering the 'tacticool seat covers' next week.
So see how that goes and maybe we can rig something up for you.

    Good luck

Nice thing was I got the truck for $4000
I have a gun rack on my extra cap, but its in the back glass, so that wouldn't work for a single cab. You probably could do the behind the seat type gun holder, or I've even seen some that mount on your ceiling of your truck.

why not just keep it in its case and throw it in the back of the truck?

Thanks. I think I found a few solutions from this.
    1. The seat strap gun rack (just dunno if i want straps going around the front of the seat.
    2. Drill some brackets, hooks, and straps into the truck

I usually don't hunt/ go shooting by myself, and I don't know how many people have seen behind the seat of 1st gen single cabs but theres not enough room for more than one hard case. I would rather have my guns inside my truck rather than thrown in the bed because the trails at hunting camps can get pretty rough.

Honestly, that's the set up I would like. However the cab is tiny. Very Tiny. I bought it because I saw a used Taco with 30k miles for $6,000 and I thought I should pick up a deal like that before someone else did. In hindsight, I would've much rather paid for a 4x4 access cab Taco, but I couldn't pass up the deal.

Wow, Jackson that's not a lot of room at all. I've never seen the interior of a regular cab

You have plenty of room behind the seat for a gun.... I have put mine behind the seat in their case. I think I could even fit a BA50 behind the seat... Might not be able to recline... but it will fit.

I just made a trip and was carrying a shotgun (just in the sleeve, not even a soft case) and a .44 rifle (soft case) and I could not get both guns to fit behind the seat without having to stack them in a weird way that a gun rack would solve. The seat does not have the option to recline. It has one setting and the whole bench can slide forward or back a few notches. But unless you are a midget, you need the seat as far back as it'll go, theres not much leg room.

True. very true. I've been looking around. But maybe its time to start getting serious about it.
