Dunno if anyone here is into college BB...but, in case you are, I'm starting a thread.

Tonight's pick: Duke over K-State by 8 (I think the spread is 5.5; and, I'd say Duke by >12, but it's at The Sprint Center in KCMO...about 1.75 hours from K-State).

2011 Final Four picks: Duke, K-State (if they can stop playing street ball, and start playing defense), UNC (my long shot), number four is unknown...I have no idea...likely not KU, even post-Selby play. I've noticed some picking Purdue...we'll see.

    Thoughts?

Yeah I would agree that's a long shot. It's looking like UNC will be a bubble team to make the tourny AGAIN this year. Not sure how the UNC faithful will handle 2 NIT's back to back.

Anyways I'm a Kansas fan so I have to disaree with your assesment of a post Selby KU team not being good enough to make a final four. Are they a lock? No. But I wouldn't like to bet agasint them. I think Duke is the obvious favorite to win again. They are kind of ahead of everyone else at this point. Plus I'm surethey'll get another easy bracket like they did last year (have the started an NCAA tourny outside of N. Carolina in recent years?!!?).

Also KSU is WAYYYYY overhyped. Sure they're a good team but I don't see them as being a top 10 team. With them losing Clemente (thier point guard) they lost alot more than KSU fans and media realize.

Anyways my final four picks are: Duke, Michigan State, Ohio State, and of course Kansas

QFT, but if they could sharpen their play and create a defensive strategy, they stand a chance (imo). Off topic (sort of): I wonder whether Martin builds them up after he tears them down.?.

I think alot depends on the type of ref's they get too. KSU is a team that really likes to test the waters with fouls. If the refs let them play they will be a scrappy and hard team to beat. If the refs call a tight game they will all foul out before the half....

True that!!! Especially with Kyrie Irving being out for Duke for some time (hopefully his toe heals ok, I hate to see good players like him go down with something like that) and now K-state saying Wally Judge will be out indefinitely for the 2010-2011 season.

I still don't see Duke losing with Irving out giving their schedule and the weaker ACC this year.

Nice to see KU @ #3 in the polls after Pitt lost. But I have a feeling there will be a lot of moving around in the top 25 throughout the year.

KU better pick it up because they haven’t been playing the best, but I have faith in Bill Self. It seems his teams always lag a little bit and pick it up right when conference play begins, which is what we need. Hopefully he can get Selby adjusted and into the mix in a timely fashion.

bkeith, do you make it to a lot of games at AFH?

^ No...I used to when I lived in Kansas (at least 1/season)...now I'm lucky if I get to watch them on TV.

    I'm psyched for Saturday!
