Best way to get to fuel filter??

So i went to change my fuel filter today and noticed that its DIRECTLY under the intake manifold!! i read about taking the wheel off and getting to it that way but even then i couldnt see how to truelly get at it? am i going to have to remove the manifold to change it?

 

I'd like to know the answer as well.

 

uhh i thought about intake manafold...anything special with that or can i just remove and re-install?

I looked at mine too and thought the samething. I wonder if a good set of crowsfoot will work?

 

I used a set of crowsfoot to make sure I had a good hold on the nuts. Last thing I wanted to do was jack something up in such a small space. I have a 3" body lift on the truck (it came with with or it wouldn't have it) and that made my swap a lot easier, just plan on busting some knuckles, cursing a little, have a beer in the middle to calm down for the installation....

Just did mine. It is my first toyota truck and I have some good sized paws. I went through the wheel well. Next time I'll have a have a beer or two and curse before I start. One or two midway through(curses and beers), and 2 more to celebrate.
