I bought a K & N 77 Series cai on ebay and just had it put it. Lovin it so far. I expected more growling when the truck was idling. Not an issue. I pulled out into traffic and gunned it and it sounded awesome. Feels a bit peppier too. The only issue I have, is I am hearing a rattling noise when I start up or am running slowly like in a parking lot. I checked everything to see if there was anything loose, but didnt find anything. Wondering if anyone else had similar issue. IMG_0529.jpg

Thanks Stan, I will check that. How long did you have it, and why did you dump it?

Gotcha. Yeah, I'm going to see how I make out with it and if it is sucking too much fuel, I will go back to stock.

Did you ever figure out your rattle? Just installed my K&N 77 series and am getting the same rattle between 1st and 2nd lag if I'm not on it. I am wondering if it is a timing/running lean condition.

Krookz so you report worse mileage with the K&N intake installed... could this have been due to your driving habits changing?

Yes, I read that. Just wondering if that helped Delrivpilot. I will check the clearance around the filter and make sure everything is tightened down.
    Thanks

You were right. Put a rubber gasket around the metal heat shield and no more noise.
    Thanks

You must be one of the few on here that like it. A lot of negative things about it, but so far I like it. When you get on it, it really wakes up.

I've got the same one, I love it too especially when gunning it!! Take the engine cover off, looks way better IMHO.
