Seven years is usually a full run for a body design. I'd hate to buy an '11 only to have it rendered old style with a new design. That said, there's risk with buying the first year of a new design (i.e. being a trendsetter). Often there's unanticipated snafus. I know when I bought my '03 Mercedes E class this was the case and I've had many motorcycles that back up my position. Still being a trendsetter is cool.

    Too many mods to list
Cars in PR always cost more than cars in the states. Thats pretty much it. It was simply a TRD Sport 4x4 Double Cab Longbed

Toyota is coming out with 10 new models this year. The Tacoma has to be one of them. It will be this year for sure. Expect a debut at the chicago auto show next month.

Fellow Boricua? I didn't notice your location. I vacationed in Rincon 2 years ago, the ride on the Autopista from SJ was peppered with Desert Sand Mica Tacos, like mine. I couldn't believe how many I saw. Funny thing is, here in MD, I don't see many at all, unless they're a 5-lugger.

A friend of mine just left Toyota a while back... he told me unless the internal plan has changed, it is scheduled for 2012. In addition, he heard something about changing the engine - something about the FJ engine. It definitely was planned to be 2012 - again though, he said they could've changed the plan since he left.

it definitely was scheduled for 2012, so that's incorrect. it may have been rescheduled to later... is that what you mean? what are your sources?

We have a 2013 double cab with very limited rear seat leg room. It would be nice for more leg room and space in the rear seat area plus a bit more in the front seat. Our pre-teen grandkids do not fit in the rear seat.

Also, I really like the Tacoma, but it is difficult for my wife to get into the truck. She has a bad knee and there is no handle above the door. Also, the ground clearance is probably too high for people with disability problems.

True but you know the Tacoma will ALWAYS get you back home and keep your family safe.

For your wife you could add some side step bars to make it easier to get in and out.

I have no problem with the leg room. Took a road trip with 2 teenage kids with no issues.

The ground clearance is awesome, maybe you should've looked at the 5-lug version, not the pre-runner/4x4 models. They're much lower to the ground.
