    Hey guys,

I'm about ready to order an Ultra Guage for my truck and I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone here can help me out with.I have a all stock Off Road TRD with the 4.0 engine.

First is it worth it, does it perform as advertised ?

Next where is the OBDll located on my 2010 and is it easily accessible ?

Also, are there any snafus or tips that can be passed along to me about the install or operation of the unit?

Lastly where did you install it? Anybody find an inconspicuous spot to mount it so I won't have to remove it every time I park the truck so it doesn't get stolen.

Thanks in advance for the help ............ Joe

I just got mine in the mail the other day. I have yet to install it since it's technically a Christmas present. But it is smaller than I thought.

I know it doesn't help but just thought I'd put in my 2 cents.

obdII port is right under the dash on your side, above the kick panel. i have an MSD Dashhawk plugged into mine.

i think the ultragauge is like a GPS unit so you probably can't mount it where i have my DH. when seated it barely blocks the odometer and doesn't block the speedo.

I'm considering getting one of these as well. Will it work with the programming of a Supercharged V6??
and how it it programmed and calibrated with your engine?

i'm curious, with the ultragauge, does your avg MPG go down when idling rather quickly?

like, if you reset it, and drive a while, then sit and idle, will it go down from there rapidly?

After reading the posts I'm in. Ordered today.

Thanks for all the input and mount pics. :)

Whippersnapper02 I really like your install but I'm thinking that I'm going to mount mine right above the forward compartment in the console in front of the cigarette lighter. I'm hoping to rig up some type of mount with velco so I can store it in the compartment when I park.

I'll update this post with pics when I get the unit and it is up and running.

KPT - Thanks for the reply. That's where I intend to mount mine. If not in the cubby hole, with velcro above the cubby hole - I guess great mines think alike lol :D

Anybody have this on a 2.7? Just another gadget? Or is there something worth monitoring going on?

    Thanks

I Velcrod a small plastic T-shaped strip sticking up a couple inches on the mirror, then Velcro'd the gauge to that.

Andrew H - The beanie is there to mostly keep the UG at an angle so I can read it and to cover it when I leave the truck. For now I used gray duct tape to hide the wiring but when I do the permanent instal I'll cut a hole large enough to pass the OBD connecet through. As soon as I get a chance I'm going to make an el bracket and mount that in the cubby and then velcro the UG to it.

RZ Rob - Nice install but I like keeping it out of sight when not in use.
