Innovate OT-2... misleading?

    So I purchased the Innovate OT-2 over the scangauge or ultra gauge just because I like the wireless look/simplicity. I guess I should have done more homework... you decide.

    After monitoring the fuel efficiency page for 3 fill ups, I notice that 1) I am getting pretty good mpg's, but 2) they are higher than what I am calculating at the pump.

    I called innovate motorsports today. Their tech assistance told me that they were NOT calculating or displaying miles per gallon, the fuel economy # is an arbitrary number that can only be used relative to each other. So If my fuel economy reader shows 18, I'm not getting 18mpg, but I'm doing better than if it read 15.

    I find this somewhat misleading and useless information. Take a look at the screenshot below and let me know what you think. Misleading? I take responsibility for not doing enough research, but I have not found any reviews stating this info.

    Lastly, do the competing products have similar "issues"?
