Hey guys, i figured yall know much more than the rest of the forum about this. after i revalve my icons, the shocks will be right where i want them, but i'm waiting on my winch before i revalve.

in the mean time, i'm in the process of "protecting" my suspension and making it a little hearder to break and bend. i'm about to order spindle gussets, so that's a plus. i want to add limmit straps though, since the preload is pretty big on my shocks to handle the heavy bumper and IFS skid. whenever my wheels leave the ground for any reason, i'm afraid that after a while it'll damage the shock. the question is, will the stock LCA be able to handle a limit strap, or would i risk damaging it?

as far as the setup goes, i was going to weld two tabs to the LCA and put the strap between the two. the straps, clevis, and clevis mounts will all come from kartek.

the rear isn't as much of an issue, but while i'm on the topic, might as well run my plans for that by you. again, a clevis mount on the frame, and then if possible, i was going to attach the lower to the shock bolt. if that's not a good idea i can just weld on more tabs.

    thanks guys.

i've seen people use straps on stock LCA and as far as i know they have not had any problems

for the rear weld the lower tab to the axle, not the shock bolt

run the strap like this so it doesn't fold outwards an get in the way of other crap

cool, so to confirm, just angle the tab on the axle towards the rear and put the one on the frame in line with the axle tab so it only has tension on it, and never a bending force? do you know who's done it on the front? i'm still trying to decide where on the arm is best.

on another note, my total chaos spindle gussets were sent out tonight :D

Mjp2s front setup is a great example for your idea. As for the rear you don't need a clevis. Just tabs and limit strap. Run your limit straps like shown above so they don't get caught on anything. I initially made that mistake too the first time around.

i don't have the LCA skids to weld to though. you think it would be substantial to weld a plate to the arm, and the tab coming off of that. kindof like where the clevis mount has been welded to a plate that has been welded to the frame.

gues i'm wrong, but i thought some people liked to use clevises in the rear so they could adjsut for the strap stretching? i have no problem using jsut tabs in the rear, i'm jsut curious

thanks for the help by the way guys.
