I have the 5100's at 1.75 and the TSB in the rear. And 265/70/17 tires on it. Sits just about level. I want to upgrade to Eibachs, and set it at .85 with the 1/4 inch spacer on the drivers side. Carriage bearing drop kit, shims, and new rear 5100's. Will I have any alignment issues with this set up? I have been told no by Toytec, but does anyone on here have this set up? Did you need new UCA's? Any alignment issues?

When you said regret the height, im assuming that means it wasnt as high as you thought it would be? Like is the 1.75 setting really all that noticable?

To me, 1.75 is barely noticeable. I thought my 265 70 17 bfg ko were going to clear without the removal of the mud flaps and trimming of the plastic.

If your worried about it being too stiff. You could put the 5100's at 1.75 then put some of these small top plate spacers on to lift to add another 1/2". This is a similar setup to what I'm running.

He is right about the vibrations, since your a prerunner you shouldn't have any in the front. However, you may have some in the rear driveline. When i had mine at 1.5 in the back i didn't though.

Here is the link for the 3/4" lift up front, to get 2.5. I just realized the other would only put you at 2.25.

I'm thinking about getting the 5100's for my 2011 TRD Sport, but everything I've seen in this thread and others basically just talks about the height of the lift and so on. What I'm interested in knowing, is how does the 5100 ride set at 1.75? Is it better than the stock bilsteins on my Sport? What makes them better, other than they give you a lift? Someone help a newbie out here please.....I'm looking to soften the ride a bit on some bumpy roads near my work, while also getting a little lift to clear some new Kumho KL61's 265/70/17. If the 5100's aren't the ticket then maybe you could point me in the right direction to accomplish what I'm looking to do.

Camper top with racks, Custom fogs behind lower bumper. Interior LED lighting, Rock Lights, Hella 500s with upraged bulbs behind black billet grill, AAL, Front 5100s
I put it at 1.75 and now I am going up the full height. Once you have a lift you are just going to want more...

The 5100's do not ride softer. They do give lift. I love the way mine ride at 1.75. Tires can also play a role in ride stiffness, E load vs. C load vs. P rated. I noticed a softer ride after I installed 265/75/16 C load duratracs in place of the factory 265/65/17duncrap tires.

    x2, I'm doing the same.

I say do the 5100s @ 2.5 with 1.5 AAL, 1/4" toytec taco lean spacer on drvr side, get a yr or 3 yr or lifetime alignment somewhere so you can get it realigned for free if you change something or just every few months so you won't be wearing out those new tires and later get LR UCAs to get the caster setting back so the twitchy handling will go away. Caster off won't wear tires but will be annoying in wind or uneven pavement. Take off the flaps and trim some plastic based on where whatever size tires you get rub. I have no flaps and trimmed plastic in front of wheel well for 32x11s to not rub. They do not touch cab mount. I have 1.25" rake like this with rear being higher. You'll love it. Guy at work is always trippin on how good it rides for being that high with E load tires. I'm prerunner so if 4x4 you may need carrier bearing drop or diff drop if you have any driveline vibes like some do. That is a 4x4 hit or miss thing. Those kits are not expensive or hard to do. Once it's all done you'll be glad you did it. Gotta start somewhere and work up to it when money's an issue.

Right now, Im planning on setting the shocks to 2.5". One of my friends and his dad has offered to install it for free, so now if it all works out, I'll have money to buy bigger tires and rims.

Don't buy the 5100s hoping to soften the ride of your Sport. It isn't a rough ride but it most definitely is not softer. I started out with my 05 Sport set at .85", then went to 1.75", then to 2.5", so I can speak for all three settings. At .85" it is more firm than stock, but not harsh, and you are only loosing a little bit of down travel. At 1.75" and 2.5" (didn't notice any difference in the jump from 1.75 to 2.5) it is considerably firmer than stock and at this point you are losing a noticeable amount of down travel. It's hard to describe firmness by telling someone. It's like trying to tell someone how loud your exhaust is. I will say that going from that the ride at 2.5" is not bad enough for me to bring it back down to a lower setting.

As far as what makes the 5100 better.......It has a bigger piston and different valving so it has better damping compared to the stockers.

You run the stock coils on 2.5 setting? Heard some people say its fine, some people say no its not good for the Bilstein.

Yes, stock coils on 2.5" setting. It's not bad at all especially for 99% of my driving. I commute in my truck and it is 95% smooth interstate. I don't offroad in my truck either.
