    if i want to replace the factory jack with an aftermarket hydraulic bottle jack, any have a sound recommendation?

    lifting a stock '11 tacoma access cab - just to change a flat.

    i also have phone & credit card - but may choose not to wait for roadside assist

    Spacer lift, bumper stickers, ejector seat, etc.
    A Craftsman bottle jack would be a good choice. I'd go for something similar to this.

    Have you fully extended the stock jack? If not do so you might be shocked how hight they actually go! Just talked with a friend last week that tossed his before ever extending it and never knew how high it really went.

    Of course who wouldn't!:D

    Modify the stock extension handle and put a good 1/2" cordless drill on there, now your jack is powered.
